Between all the rendering and playblasting this week, I managed to thumbnail out about 30+ characters (elves only so far) from the first few chapters of The Silmarillion. I just inked the first few, which just so happen to be the the Seven Sons of Feanor (count the last one twice; twins). I already see some things I need to adjust, but it’s 2am, so yeah time to sleep.

Maehdros Sketchbook Doodle A surprisingly large percentage of the small amount of artists who draw Silmarillion fan art seem to have a minor obsession with Maehdros. I do not share this obsession, but I can understand where it comes from. This is actually my first drawing of him, as I have focused mainly on Men rather than Elves up to this point, but I just had a strong desire to draw long red luxurious man locks. I think I might use this doodle to learn how to ink using Manga Studio, a program I’ve never used before, but am interested in.

Maehdros Sketchbook Doodle

A surprisingly large percentage of the small amount of artists who draw Silmarillion fan art seem to have a minor obsession with Maehdros. I do not share this obsession, but I can understand where it comes from.
